June 2020

We are celebrating our 87th Anniversary at the Fellowship Deaconry Ministries! We have seen God’s hand at work. Lives have been impacted through this ministry (and in Taiwan and Japan) over the years, and we thank God for the opportunity to minister here.

After much prayer and anticipation, we have been given the approval to open camp on July 6th! With less than a month’s notice, our staff has been diligently working to ensure we are ready to safely open. We have been busy preparing for a summer camp season that will include new procedures to comply with COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions. Camp as we know it, may run a little differently this year, but we are excited that God has answered our prayers, and we are able to open our doors. We are ready to share the gospel with the campers and move forward with our summer theme, “Fearless”. We pray that Day Camp Sunshine will be a light to families, and that many campers will come to know Jesus as their Savior and grow in their relationship with Him.

Also, on July 6th our Sunshine Preschool and Infant Care “Jr. Camp” is opening with a ½-day schedule. The new regulations for the preschool are even more stringent than for DCS, but we all have safety in mind. We will be adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions to ensure the safety of our staff and students.

The Conference Center is on the cusp of re-opening. We may now allow the churches and ministries that meet here to gather for outdoor meetings, or indoors with limitations. Just as with the other ministries, there is an extensive list of new regulations governing the Conference Center, but we are making the changes, and feel good about being able to serve again when permitted.

In the midst of all this we still have extensive renovations underway in the Large Chapel and in our Rec Hall. We hope you can visit soon to see our new Chapel. It is beautiful.

It does feel a bit like there is a fresh breeze picking up, and we can’t wait to welcome guests, campers and students back to the Fellowship Deaconry Ministries. We sure have missed you!
