This Spring, the Deaconry is hosting a series of concerts and a two-day conference under the banner “DEEPER”. At the root of this initiative is a heart for outreach. By providing DEEPER concerts and a DEEPER conference, we prayerfully seek the connection to younger believers and seekers. But everyone is welcome, old or young, believer or seeker.
The concert series flows out of an idea from Dave Pettigrew. Dave was a musician at our “Family Praise Fest 2017” last October. The festival was his first visit here: Dave was impressed by the beauty of the grounds, and the potential for outreach. In November, Dave contacted Director Davis to suggest more concerts for spring 2018, and that’s how the “DEEPER” series began.
Once momentum mounted for a series of concerts, Director Davis asked, “Why are we doing this?” The team was united in their desire that this be a meaningful vehicle for outreach and discipleship. Hence, the “DEEPER CONFERENCE” was born. The subtitle for the conference is “7 aspects of going DEEPER” based on the sessions being offered: Wholeness, Prayer, Worship, His Word, The Spirit, Koinonia (Fellowship) and Commitment.
A high point of the DEEPER series is the Brandon Heath concert with Dave Pettigrew on June 15th. Brandon Heath is heard regularly on many contemporary Christian music channels. All of the musicians listed below have their own web-sites and YouTube channels, and we encourage each of you to check them out.
